Central Executive of Muhammadiyah Made an Instruction on Prayer Implementation and Declaration Prior to Eid-al-Fitr

Yogyakarta - Prior to Eid-al-Fitr 1432 H (Islamic calendar), Central Executive of Muhammadiyah made a declaration on Eid-al-Fitr and instruction on the implementation of Eid-al-Fitr prayer. Similar to previous Declaration of PP (Central Executive) Muhammadiyah concerning the beginning of Ramadhan, Syawal, and Dzulhijah 1432, Syawwal 1, 1432 H will be similar to Selasa Kliwon (Tuesday) August 30, 2011.

The declaration dated on August 27, 2011 and signed by the Chairman of Central Executive of Muhammadiyah, Haedar Nashir, and General Secretary, Agung Danarto, contains the explanation as well as wisdom of fasting and Eid-al-Fitr. The declaration also reminds all Muslims to make this year's Eid-al-Fitr as a momentum to tighten silaturrahim (good relation) and brotherhood as well as to develop affection so as to increase the attitude of social solidarity and compassion. Concerning the possibility of being different on the beginning of Eid-al-Fitr 1432 H, Central Executive of Muhammadiyah urges all parties to respect each other and develop tasamuh (tolerance) because the difference is based on religious conviction that gets constitutional guarantee.

In the instruction released along with the declaration prior to Eid-al-Fitr, Central Executive of Muhammadiyah gives instruction to all Muhammadiyah's excutives and members to tightly hold to the result of hisab (calculation on deciding the first of Syawwal) made by the Council of Tarjih and Tajdid of Central Executive of Muhammadiyah. Based on hisab hakiki wujudul hilal trusted and done by the Council of Tarjih and Tajdid of Central Executive of Muhammadiyah, Ijtimak on the eve of Syawwal 1432 H happens on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 10:05:16 WIT. The height of hilal (the moon) when the sun sets in Yogyakarta (f= -07°48¢dan l= 110°21¢BT) is ­+01°49¢57²(hilal has appeared).  All over Indonesia, when the sun sets, hilal has been above the horizon. Based on the result of hisab, Central Executive of Muhammadiyah decides that Syawwal 1, 1432 H is similar to Tuesday, August 30, 2011.

Central Executive of Muhammadiyah also instructs all Muhammadiyah's executives and members to prepare Eid-al-Fitr prayer well, to publicize widely, and coordinate and cooperate with other Muslims celebrating Eid on the same day, so the implementation of Eid-al-Fitr prayer can be well-arranged and organized.
