Muhammadiyah Engages Eross Candra to Arrange a Song of the 48th Congress

MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, YOGYAKARTA - The Central Board of Muhammadiyah will release a song of the 48th Muhammadiyah Congress in the 107th Anniversary of Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta on 18 November 2019.

According to General Chairman of the Central Board of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir the song should represent advancement as a theme of the congress, “Majukan Indonesia, Cerahkan Semeste” (Develop Indonesia, Enlighten the universe).

“Muhammadiyah trusts Eross Candra (a guitarist of Sheila on 7) to arrange the song,” declared Haedar at Grha Suara Muhammadiyah on Wednesday (14/8).

Haedar informed that Eross is an alumnus of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Yogyakarta in 1998 and there is not any doubt about him as a professional musician who has gained a lot of achievements.

The song lyrics was written by Haedar himself with vigor of enlightening progressive Islam. “I wish that this song can be accepted by millennial generations since the future of Muhammadiyah relies on them,” conveyed Haedar.

Meanwhile, Eross willingly will effectuate an arrangement of the song. “It is an honor to get this mandate,” expressed Eross, who originates from Karangkajen, Yogyakarta.

Eross told that the song arrangement was his first contribution to Muhammadiyah. He expected that it can be accomplished in a month and played in Muhammadiyah office prior to the launching in November 2019.
